The children at St. Ives Chase Kindergarten were thrilled to welcome the firefighters from our local station in Gordon. Over the past few weeks, they had been engaging in various play-based activities to learn about fire safety. The visit from the firefighters was the perfect highlight of their learning, bringing their lessons to life and giving them a chance to interact with real-life heroes. The children were excited to see the fire trucks up close, ask questions, and learn even more about how to stay safe in case of a fire #gordonfirestation #kindergarten #firesafety ... Every morning, we gather on our meeting mat before going outside at St.Ives Chase Kindergarten . But before we head out, we have an important reminder from our two mascots, Sunny the Koala and Shade the Joey. They remind us to grab our sunscreen, hats, and water bottles. We all sit in a circle, and our teachers show us how to put on sunscreen.
First, we squeeze some sunscreen onto our palms. Then, we rub our hands together and apply it on our face, neck, arms, and legs. We’re getting really good at this routine every day.#sunsafe #stiveschasekindergarten #drinkwater #wearsunhat #sunscreeneverydayallday ... See MoreSee Less

The lids we got from reverse garbage have been a huge hit with the children. They’ve been having a blast playing with them, like splashing water, pouring from one lid to another, and sorting them into different piles. It’s amazing how simple things like lids can bring so much joy and fun for the children.
Reusing things like these lids is really great because it helps the environment by reducing waste. Instead of throwing them away, we’re giving them a new purpose and making something fun out of them.
This connects well with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) outcomes. By playing with the lids, the children are learning about creativity and problem-solving as they come up with new ways to use them. They’re also developing their fine motor skills and coordination by pouring and sorting them. They are also learning about sustainability and the importance of reusing materials to help the planet. ... See MoreSee Less
